Vivien Markert is a Research Assistant and PhD candidate at the Department of Chinese Studies, University of Tübingen, since October 2019. She focuses on societal and political challenges in China's peripheries, including Tibet, Xinjiang, and Inner Mongolia, as well as topics like ethnicity, nationalism, and religion-state dynamics in Greater China.
