Vivian Zayas is a Professor of Psychology at Cornell University, affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences. Her research focuses on the 'relational mind,' exploring how people mentally represent relationships, navigate social interactions, and regulate self-esteem through implicit and nonconscious processes. She employs cognitive measures, neuroimaging (EEG/ERP, fMRI), and behavioral observations to study topics like social exclusion, attachment, and bias.
Her academic roles include teaching courses such as 'Research Seminar on the Relational Mind' and directing the Person and Context Laboratory.
