Vivek Sarin

Vivek Sarin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Texas A&M University. His research focuses on numerical algorithms, parallel computing, computational science, and data mining. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1997), an M.S. from the University of Minnesota (1993), and a B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (1990).

Research Interests:

• Numerical algorithms for scientific/engineering problems (e.g., protein structure modeling, VLSI circuit analysis, coastal modeling)
• High-performance parallel computing and distributed numerical algorithms
• Data mining and large-scale data analysis (e.g., protein-nucleic acid interactions, traffic flow modeling)
