Vitor Basto-Fernandes

Vitor Basto-Fernandes is an assistant professor with tenure at Iscte - University Institute of Lisbon. He previously held academic positions at the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (adjunct professor, coordinating professor), University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (visiting assistant professor), and University of Minho (where he taught after completing his education).

His research focuses on information systems integration, anti-spam filtering, and multi-objective optimization. He has contributed to international projects in these domains and served as principal investigator for two FCT-funded projects related to research management and internationalization. His professional experience includes software engineering at Integral Vision Inc. and co-founding PSI-Sistemas de Informação Lda., where he worked on web development and B2B e-commerce solutions.

He has coordinated the Master's degree in Computer Engineering - Mobile Computing (2010-2012) and directed the Computer Science and Communications Research Center at the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (2012-2016). He actively publishes in conferences and journals and has organized international academic events in his research fields.
