Assistant Professor Vita Petek is a faculty member at the Faculty of Tourism, University of Maribor, specializing in Tourism with habilitation in gastronomy and wine tourism research. Her academic work bridges theoretical frameworks with industry applications through active participation in sustainable tourism projects.
Research Interests:
Her primary focus spans gastronomy, enogastronomy, wine tourism, and culinary tourism, with recent investigations into:
- Consumer ethnocentrism in wine selection behavior
- Post-pandemic recovery strategies for wine tourism destinations
- Digital maturity assessment in tourism SMEs
- Sustainable development of regional wine tourism experiences
Teaching & Engagement:
She delivers courses including Introduction to Tourism, Wine Tourism, and Gastronomy and Enogastronomy using active learning methodologies.
