Vishnu Ravi is a board-certified physician, software engineer, and clinical informaticist serving as Technology Architect at Stanford Medicine Catalyst and Lead Architect for Digital Health at the Stanford Mussallem Center for Biodesign. He holds an MD from Albany Medical College and a BA from Cornell University, with residency training at Mount Sinai Hospital. His work focuses on innovating digital health solutions through AI, interoperability standards, and patient-centered design.
Key projects include co-founding Stanford Spezi (an open-source digital health framework), developing the QDG-Care platform for Parkinson's monitoring, and creating the BALANCE app for anorexia nervosa management. He teaches CS342/MED253 'Building for Digital Health' at Stanford, bridging computer science and clinical practice.
His research emphasizes real-time health monitoring, FHIR standard applications, and mobile health solutions. Over 8 peer-reviewed articles from 2015-2025 demonstrate contributions to AI-driven healthcare, pediatric arrhythmia detection via wearables, and antimicrobial surface engineering.
