Virginia France is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Illinois, a position she has held since 1988. She has held previous roles including Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago (1993–1994), Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago (1986–1988), and Lecturer/Instructor roles at the University of Chicago and UIC. She earned her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago (1986) and a B.A. in Economics from Swarthmore College (1977).
