Violetta Kostka

Professor Violetta Kostka is a faculty member at the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk, holding the rank of Professor of Humanities in Art Studies. She specializes in musicology, focusing on music cognition, intertextuality, and 20th/21st-century music. Her teaching includes history of music, world music cultures, and music cognition.

She earned her PhD and habilitation from the Institute of Art, Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. Her research has been supported by grants from institutions like the University of Cambridge and the Polish Library in Paris. She has authored/co-edited influential books and over 100 articles in prestigious journals such as Tempo and Studies in Musical Theatre.
