Dr. Viola Störmer is an Assistant Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychology at UC San Diego. Her research investigates cognitive and neural mechanisms underlying human perception, attention, and multisensory processing using psychophysics, experimental psychology, and EEG neuroimaging.
She examines fundamental principles of selective attention and its influence on perception, with particular interest in how attention facilitates multisensory integration. Her work explores how attentional mechanisms bind information across sensory modalities to form coherent perceptual representations.
