Vindya Wijeratne

Dr. Vindya Wijeratne is a Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London, affiliated with the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science. He is based at the Mile End Campus in London, with office hours on Wednesdays from 10:30 to 12:30. His research focuses on improving Quality of Experience (QoE) in LTE networks, addressing bufferbloat issues, evaluating IP network performance, and advancing green networking initiatives to reduce energy consumption while maintaining QoS. He collaborates with Juniper Networks on virtual testbeds using their Junosphere platform to enhance networking research and teaching at the university.

Teaching responsibilities include the compulsory undergraduate module Communications and Networks, covering ISO/OSI models, network protocols (TCP/IP, CSMA/CD), and mobile networks. He also teaches Introductory Java Programming as part of the BUPT joint program. His work integrates practical industry tools like Juniper’s virtual router SDK to bridge academic research and real-world applications.
