معرفی
Prof. Vincenzo Savona is a Full Professor at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), leading the Laboratory of Theoretical Physics of Nanosystems (LTPN). He holds positions in the School of Basic Sciences (SB) within the Institute of Physics (IPHYS) and the SPH teaching unit. His research focuses on quantum photonics, open quantum systems, and theoretical nanosystems. He has received a Swiss National Science Foundation professorship grant and supervises numerous doctoral students.
Education:
- Bachelor/Master in Physics at Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa and University of Pisa
- PhD in Theoretical Physics at EPFL
- Postdoctoral research at Humboldt University Berlin
Research Interests: His work explores quantum chaos, dissipative phase transitions, quantum computing algorithms, and nanophotonic devices. The LTPN lab investigates nonlinear photonics, cavity QED, and quantum error correction.
Publications: Recent work includes studies on quantum chaos in open systems, variational quantum algorithms, and dissipative phase transitions in photonic resonators. His research bridges theoretical physics with experimental photonics.
Awards:
- Swiss National Science Foundation Professorship Grant (2002)
Teaching & Advising:
- Supervised over 15 doctoral theses in quantum physics and related fields
- Teaches Analytical Mechanics and Quantum Computing courses
Labs/Teams: Director of LTPN, collaborating with the NCCR Quantum Photonics and involved in doctoral program committees at EPFL.
