Vincent Portillo is an Assistant Professor of English at Boston College, specializing in composition and cultural rhetoric. He directs the Writing Fellows Program and serves as an archive assistant for the FWWCP Archival Project. His research explores industrial archives, language politics, and Americanization processes, with a focus on the Ford Motors English School (1914-1919).
His publications emphasize labor history and community literacy, including co-edited works on the Federation of Worker Writers and Community Publishers (FWWCP) Collection. He has contributed to the Trades Union Congress Library blog and Bedford Bits, addressing topics like collaborative preservation of working-class histories and cultural agency.
