Vincent Mazel is a Researcher at the University of Bordeaux specializing in acoustic materials and pharmaceutical powder mechanics within the Materials-Processes-Interactions (MPI) research group and Physical Acoustics (APY) team.
His research focuses on acoustic wave propagation in complex media, ultrasonic material characterization, and mechanics of compacted pharmaceutical powders. Key areas include contactless micromanipulation with acoustic waves, nanophononics, biophononics, and non-destructive testing methodologies for material durability assessment. He investigates elastic wave behavior in structured anisotropic materials and develops simulation models for pharmaceutical powder compaction processes.
Dr. Mazel actively contributes to the GT3 subgroup of MPI (Galenics - Mechanics of Compacted Pharmaceutical Powders) and the APY research axis (Physical Acoustics, Ultrasound & Materials). His work integrates experimental characterization with computational modeling across domains including opto-acoustics, picosecond phenomena, and multi-scale material behavior analysis. He participates in cross-disciplinary projects related to material durability, fatigue analysis, and civil engineering applications through the GCE research group.
