Vincent Le Fouest is a Full Professor at the University of La Rochelle, affiliated with the Coastline, Environment and Societies (LIENSs) laboratory. His research focuses on physical-biological coupling in coastal ecosystems, continent-ocean transfers, and numerical modeling of biogeochemical fluxes across temperate to Arctic regions.
Research Themes:
- Impact of environmental variability on coastal ecosystems
- Coupling ocean circulation models with biogeochemical systems
- Remote sensing integration with in situ data
- Climate change effects on permafrost and river plumes
Recent Publications highlight advancements in Arctic Ocean biogeochemistry, microphytobenthos productivity modeling, and machine learning applications for coastal monitoring. His work combines satellite observations, numerical simulations, and field studies to address climate-ecosystem interactions.
Major Projects include RiOMar (2023-2028) for coastal evolution modeling, CONNECTED (2020-2023) on Arctic organic carbon, and NASA LRTZC (2020-2028) for carbon territory planning.
