Vince Morabito is a Professor in the Department of Business Law and Taxation at Monash University with extensive experience as a solicitor at Clayton Utz and academic appointments at Monash, Melbourne, and Deakin universities. He serves as the Department's ERA Director and previously held roles as Deputy Head, HDR Director, and Research Impact Director while editing the Journal of Australian Taxation for five years.
His research centers on empirical analysis of class actions, access to justice, and litigation funding, with secondary expertise in tax law, securities regulation, and judicial accountability. Morabito's work examines regulatory frameworks for commercial litigation funders, statutes of limitations, public interest costs orders, and constitutional dimensions of taxation, bridging theoretical legal scholarship with practical policy impact through frequent government consultations.
Recent publications (2022-2025) reveal persistent focus on class action mechanics including third-party funding regulation, aggregate damages mechanisms, and common fund doctrine evolution. These build upon his foundational empirical studies of Australian class action regimes initiated in 2007, consistently addressing judicial efficiency and access-to-justice barriers across Commonwealth jurisdictions.
