Ville Turunen is a Senior University Lecturer at the Department of Mathematics and Systems Analysis, School of Science, Aalto University. His research focuses on Time-Frequency Analysis, Pseudo-Differential Operators, and Harmonic Analysis. He has made significant contributions to the study of these operators on compact Lie groups and their applications in mathematical physics.
His research interests span across advanced mathematical analysis topics including Fourier analysis, nonlinear partial differential equations, and operator theory. Turunen has co-authored a notable monograph Pseudo-Differential Operators and Symmetries (Birkhäuser, 2010) and has published extensively in high-impact journals like the Journal of Fourier Analysis and Applications.
Recent work includes advancements in Born-Jordan time-frequency analysis (2016), global hypoellipticity of pseudo-differential operators on compact Lie groups (2014), and foundational studies on quantization methods for periodic operators (2010-2009). His research often bridges pure mathematics with applications in signal processing and mathematical physics.
Turunen’s academic contributions are further highlighted through his involvement in organizing international conferences like HAPDE2015 and NNPSM2016, reflecting his leadership in advancing mathematical research.
