Viktoriia Kiptenko

Viktoriia Kiptenko is an Associate Professor at the Chair of Regional Studies and Tourism within the Geography Faculty of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. With a career spanning over three decades in academia and tourism services, she has established herself as a prominent scholar in sustainable development and tourism studies.

Professor Kiptenko's research focuses on the intersection of sustainability, development, and tourism. Her work explores indicator-based approaches to sustainable development, particularly examining how international frameworks like the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) can be localized within the Ukrainian context. She has conducted extensive research on tourism policy and planning, with special attention to how recreation activities and tourism contribute to the quality of life of urban elderly populations. Her geographical approach to globalization and glocalization examines the spatial dimensions of socio-economic transformations.
