Viktor Carl-Magnus Andersson is a Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oslo's Department of Philosophy, Classics, History of Art and Ideas (Faculty of Humanities). His work bridges environmental thought, intellectual history of oceans, and the history of knowledge. He holds a Master of Arts in History of Science and Ideas from the University of Gothenburg (thesis: 'Places of the Particular: on Ethical-political Locality and Bioregional Visions in Gary Snyder’s Thought').
His research focuses on the formation of deep-sea knowledge post-1945, particularly in Scandinavia, and explores intersections between phenomenology, environmental ethics, and medical historiography. Current projects include 'History below the abyss: on the ecological and extra-terrestrial historicity of deep oceans' (1945–1972).
Publications include analyses of Scandinavian deep-sea research epistemology and critical discussions of person-centred healthcare frameworks. He participates in the 'Maritime Modernities: Formats of Oceanic Knowledge' initiative.
