Vijaya Bohlmann

Vijaya Bohlmann is a Lecturer in the Department of Communication at the University of Maryland. She is also the President, Founder, and Chief Consultant of Designing Communication, a D.C.-based consulting firm specializing in organizational culture, leadership, and DEI strategies. With over 20 years of experience, she advises global Fortune 500 companies, nonprofits, and associations on stakeholder engagement, team dynamics, and career development. Her expertise spans public relations, corporate management, and individual coaching.

She teaches courses such as COMM331 (News Writing and Reporting for Public Relations) and COMM351 (Public Relations Techniques). Her book, This Changes Everything: Transforming Your Life from the Inside Out, introduces a proprietary five-stage change model for personal and professional growth. Jaya holds an MA, MSMOB, APR, and ACC credentials.
