Vijay Vyas

Vijay Vyas is a Senior Lecturer and PhD Supervisor at the University of Portsmouth, affiliated with the Portsmouth Business School within the Faculty of Business & Law. He serves as Course Director for the MSc Innovation Management & Entrepreneurship and coordinates modules in entrepreneurship. His academic roles include Visiting Professorships at Lancaster University Management School and Edinburgh Napier University, alongside teaching roles at institutions in Bhutan and India.

Dr. Vyas holds a PhD in Innovation and New Product Development from Edinburgh Napier University, complemented by a master’s in economics and a bachelor’s in mathematics. His research focuses on entrepreneurship education, SME innovation, entrepreneurial intentions, and the link between entrepreneurship and economic growth.

Key research contributions include studies on global entrepreneurship dynamics, innovation in emerging markets, and curriculum development for entrepreneurship education. He has advised organizations like Promethean (UK), Lupin Laboratories (India), and Diamines & Chemicals (India). His work with the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) in India highlights his international engagement.
