Victoria Zamora

Dr. Victoria Zamora (she/they) is a Lecturer in the Communication Studies Department at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), part of the College of Liberal Arts. Their teaching focuses on Public Speaking, Communication Theory, and Contemporary Rhetorical Theory. Victoria holds a PhD in Communication from Arizona State University's Hugh Downs School of Human Communication and a Master's from Cal State Fullerton.

Research interests center on rhetoric/popular culture intersections, preserving Latina women's stories, and enhancing civic engagement in underserved communities. They lead community initiatives addressing educational barriers for Latine youth and advocate for marginalized groups including LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, and disabled individuals.

Active in debate coaching, Victoria supports both English- and Spanish-language teams at Cal Poly, drawing from extensive international debate experience. Their community work includes initiatives to empower underserved populations through storytelling and participatory programs.
