Victoria Woodard is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Applied and Computational Mathematics and Statistics (ACMS) department at the University of Notre Dame, within the College of Science. She holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics and Statistics Education from North Carolina State University (2017) and multiple master’s degrees in Computer Science, Statistics, and Mathematics. Her teaching focuses on statistical methods, design of experiments, probability, and data science, particularly for undergraduate and online master’s students. She has developed courses such as Design of Experiments (ACMS 30810) and Probability and Statistics for data science programs.
Woodard’s research interests center on best practices for integrating technology into statistics and mathematics education, with a focus on statistical computing’s impact on student learning. She has mentored numerous undergraduate research projects through initiatives like USCLAP (Undergraduate Statistics Class Project) and serves on committees for the ASA Undergraduate Statistics Project Competition.
Her awards include the Michiana Forty under 40 (2023) and the Indiana University at South Bend Computer Science Excellence Award (2022). She actively participates in service roles, including directing the Scientific Computing minor, advising the Data Club, and coordinating Data Fest events. Woodard is a member of the American Statistical Association (ASA), SIGCSE, and IEEE.
