Victoria Wolcott, PhD, is a Professor in both the Department of History and the Department of Global Gender & Sexuality Studies at the University at Buffalo (SUNY Buffalo). She specializes in 20th-century U.S. history with a focus on race, gender, urban development, and experimental interracial communities. Her work bridges social/cultural history, urban studies, and African American studies.
Education: PhD in History from the University of Michigan (1995).
Research Interests: Wolcott examines how gender and race intersect in urban environments, particularly exploring recreational segregation, labor movements, and civil rights strategies. Her work highlights marginalized voices in interwar Detroit, postwar Buffalo, and other key urban centers.
