Victoria Johansson is an Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer in General Linguistics at Lund University's Centre for Languages and Literature. She specializes in language development through the lifespan, linguistic processes, and cognitive aspects of writing, with particular focus on the writing process and how it differs from speaking. She is a member of the LAMiNATE research platform and the Natural and Artificial Cognition profile area at Lund University.
Her research interests include language development across the lifespan, linguistic processes, cognitive aspects of writing, and the analysis of writing processes through methods like keystroke logging combined with eye tracking. She has developed research methodologies including the ScriptLog program and has led projects examining how language production differs between invented and self-experienced narratives.
Dr. Johansson has published extensively with 133 research outputs including articles, book chapters, and conference presentations. Her recent work focuses on forensic linguistic applications, deception detection through language analysis, and the cognitive processes involved in writing. She has supervised doctoral projects including work on the London-Lund Corpus 2 of spoken English.

She has held various leadership positions including Assistant director of Lund University Humanities Lab (2018-2021), Manager of Research and Research Education in General Linguistics (2020-2021), and member of several steering groups and committees. During spring 2022 she was partially on leave to work at Kristianstad University.
