Professor Victoria J Martin is a Professor of Collider Physics at the School of Physics and Astronomy, University of Edinburgh, with primary research affiliations to the ATLAS experiment at the LHC and CLICdp projects at CERN. She holds significant leadership roles including Chair of the STFC Project Peer Review Panel, Particle Physics Theme Leader for the Scottish Universities’ Physics Alliance, and Chair of the CLICdp Institute Board.
Her research focuses on experimental particle physics through collider experiments, with emphasis on LHC data analysis, future linear collider development (CLIC), and searches for physics beyond the Standard Model such as supersymmetry. She actively contributes to detector physics and physics potential studies for next-generation colliders.
Professor Martin serves as Deputy Chair of the ATLAS experiment speakers’ committee and is a member of the Young Academy of Scotland and Institute of Physics. Her educational leadership includes organizing Quantum Physics courses and Senior Honours Group Projects, while supervising student research on Future Colliders and Supersymmetry at CLIC. She co-organized the Scottish Universities Summer Schools in Physics on LHC Physics (2012, 2009) and Neutrinos (2006), demonstrating sustained commitment to academic training and outreach in particle physics.
