Victor Markiw is a Lecturer in Music at the University of New Haven’s College of Arts and Sciences, with a distinguished career bridging performance, education, and research. He has taught at the University of Connecticut, Ivan Franko National University, and Lysenko Music Academy in Lviv, Ukraine, and currently serves as a US Fulbright Scholar in Lviv. His expertise centers on Ukrainian composers, music theory, and historical performance traditions.

His research explores the works of Ukrainian composer Myroslav Skoryk, 20th-century music, and the intersection of musical and cultural history. He has released two critically acclaimed CD recordings and contributed concert reviews to The Ukrainian Weekly and Charger Bulletin.
Victor Markiw has received the University of New Haven Experiential Education Award (2012) and secured grants from the Hartford Woman’s Music Club and Shevchenko Scientific Society. He organized a landmark interdisciplinary concert commemorating the Holodomor and Maidan Revolution of Dignity at the University of New Haven in 2018.
