Victor Knoop

Dr. Victor Knoop is an Associate Professor at the Department of Transport & Planning, Delft University of Technology. He specializes in traffic dynamics, focusing on how driver movements influence traffic stream behavior and network effects. His research extends to analyzing traffic patterns across multiple roads within a zone.

He earned his PhD in 2009 from TU Delft with a thesis on 'Road Incidents and Network Dynamics.' Recently awarded a Veni grant by NWO, he is Editor of the journal Collective Dynamics. He teaches courses like Traffic Flow Theory and Simulation, emphasizing practical understanding of traffic operations.

Victor supervises PhD students and contributes to interdisciplinary projects on automated driving and traffic modeling. His work bridges theoretical insights with real-world applications, addressing challenges in traffic efficiency and safety.
