Victor Fraigneau is a Lecturer in Architecture, affiliated with the University of Strasbourg's Faculty of Philosophy, the National School of Architecture Paris la Villette (ENSAPLV), and École Polytechnique in Paris. He holds a PhD from ENSAPLV (2020), focusing on 'L'architecture au sens olfactif,' exploring olfactory dimensions in architecture and landscape design. His post-doctoral research (Strasbourg) addressed architecture in the Anthropocene, bridging environmental and political issues.
Research interests include the role of olfactory senses in built environments, materiality, and atmospheric expressions in architecture. He has received notable support, including a Caisse des Dépôts sponsorship (2017) and a JSPS Summer Program grant, enabling collaborations like the University of Tokyo’s Kuma Laboratory.
His work emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches, merging sensory studies with urban and environmental challenges, reflecting his residency at Paris’ Cité Internationale des Arts and academic engagements across institutions.
