Prof. Vicky Temperton is a Professor of Ecosystem Functioning and Services at Leuphana University, Lüneburg. She leads the Professorship for Ecosystem Functioning and Services within the Institute of Ecology (IE). Her research focuses on biodiversity, ecological restoration, and grassland dynamics, emphasizing priority effects, plant interactions, and social-ecological systems in Africa and Europe.
Key projects include FOR5501 (Rwanda ecosystem restoration), GrünlandVielfalt (Grassland transformation), and BiodiWert II (Grassland restoration concepts). She coordinates federal research initiatives like INPLAMINT 3, focusing on plant-soil-microbe interactions.
Her research interests span ecosystem services, biodiversity conservation, and the application of ecological science to real-world management. She has published extensively on grassland restoration, plant community assembly, and priority effects, with recent contributions to Trends in Ecology & Evolution and Restoration Ecology.
