Associate Professor Vicki Banham is affiliated with Edith Cowan University's School of Arts and Humanities. Her roles include Director of the Ngala Board of Management (since 2002) and past leadership positions such as Head of School (School of Community Studies, 1998) and Chair of the Department of Human Services (1992–1994). She holds a PhD from the University of South Australia (2001) and has extensive professional experience in community development, human services, and child welfare.
Her research focuses on vulnerable communities, particularly kinship care dynamics, immigrant integration challenges, and child welfare policies. Key areas include grandparent caregivers' well-being, cultural myths in Ghanaian family structures, and the experiences of Afghan refugees in Australia.
