Vibeke Videm

Vibeke Videm is a Professor at NTNU's Department of Clinical and Molecular Medicine. Her research centers on inflammation mechanisms in cardiovascular diseases, particularly in patients with inflammatory arthritis or diabetes. She investigates genetic and biochemical predictors of abdominal aortic aneurysms, cardiovascular risks, and the impact of physical activity on disease outcomes.

Videm leads studies examining inflammatory biomarkers (e.g., CRP, calprotectin) as predictors of vascular complications and mortality. Her work explores how exercise interventions affect cardiorespiratory fitness, body composition, and disease progression in rheumatic conditions. She collaborates extensively on population-based cohort studies including the HUNT and Trøndelag Health Studies.
