Dr. Vesna Đukić is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Forestry, University of Belgrade, specializing in hydraulics, hydrology, and river hydraulics. She has held academic roles since 2001, progressing from Teaching Assistant to Full Professor (2022). Her research focuses on sedimentation processes, mathematical modeling, and water resource management. She has published 46 scientific papers and authored two textbooks. Active in professional organizations like the Serbian Society for Hydraulic Research and the World Organization for Soil and Water Conservation, she also delivers invited lectures internationally.
Education:
- PhD in Hydrotechnical Engineering (2011)
- Master's in Hydrotechnical Engineering (2000)
- Bachelor's in Hydrotechnical Engineering (1996), graduating first in her class with an 8.63 GPA.
Teaching: Teaches courses in hydraulics, hydrology, water protection, and river basin management at undergraduate, master's (including English programs), and doctoral levels. Courses include 'Hydraulics in Soil and Water Protection', 'River Basin Management', and 'Modeling of Hydrological Processes'.
Research Highlights: Develops mathematical models (e.g., SHETRAN, HEC-HMS) for hydrological simulations. Investigates erosion/sedimentation dynamics in river basins and climate change impacts on precipitation patterns.
Awards: Received the Faculty of Civil Engineering's award for academic excellence during her studies.
