Verónica Leoni

Verónica Leoni is a Tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Economics at the University of the Balearic Islands. She completed her Doctorate in Applied Economics from the university in 2020 after conducting postdoctoral research at the University of Bologna.

Her research focuses on Tourism Economics, Platform Economics, and Environmental Economics, with a strong emphasis on empirical analysis. She is an active member of the Competitiveness, Environment and Tourism (COMET) research group, a consolidated R&D&I structure at the university.

Since 2022, Professor Leoni has served on the editorial board of Tourism Economics, a prominent scientific journal in her field. She coordinates Studies in Menorca and teaches across multiple tourism and economics programs.

Her teaching portfolio includes Tourism and Hotel Economics, Introduction to Tourism, Microeconomic Analysis of Tourism, Environmental Economics in Tourist Spaces, and Competition Analysis in the Tourism Industry across various degree programs including Hotel Management, Business Administration, Economics, and Tourism.

Professor Leoni supervises final degree projects in Tourism and Economics, as well as master's theses in the Master's Degree in Tourism Economics: Monitoring and Evaluation. Tutoring sessions require prior appointment, and her office is located in room DB209 of the Gaspar Melchor de Jovellanos Building.
