Veronika LEMEIRE serves as a Researcher-expert and Temporary Academic Staff Member at Hasselt University's School of Social Sciences, affiliated with the Capacity group Social Sciences and Research group Research for Digitalisation, Diversity and Democracy. Her work bridges political geography, labor sociology, and gender studies within Belgian institutional contexts.
Her research focuses on Gender Equality, Political Geography, Labour History, and Collective Bargaining, examining how social dialogue institutions, EU policies, and trade union strategies have shaped gender provisions in Belgium since 1950. Employing feminist political economy frameworks and longitudinal historical analysis, she investigates discursive struggles in welfare transformation and neoliberal policy impacts on labor relations.
Recent publications (2018-2024) reveal consistent thematic evolution: from analyzing national bargaining outcomes (2018) to EU policy impacts (2019, 2022), trade union strategies (2021), and contemporary institutional transformations (2024). Her work demonstrates methodological innovation through discursive analysis of Belgian social dialogue archives and comparative policy evaluation.
Lecture contributions include coordinating Economics and society (2025-2026) and co-teaching Bachelor's thesis, Economics and society, and Sociology of contemporary labour and organisations (2024-2025). She actively participates in the Research for Digitalisation, Diversity and Democracy group, exploring societal implications of digital transformation through interdisciplinary gender lenses.
