Veronika Gjertsen Rypdal

Veronika Gjertsen Rypdal is a researcher at UiT The Arctic University of Norway, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Clinical Medicine. She is an active contributor to the Nordic Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) cohort study, a population-based multicenter research initiative spanning Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland that has followed JIA patients since 1997.

Her research focuses on long-term outcomes in juvenile idiopathic arthritis, with particular emphasis on disease activity trajectories from childhood to adulthood, predictive modeling of unfavorable outcomes, and specialized areas including uveitis, orofacial manifestations, and quality-of-life assessments in JIA patients. Dr. Rypdal completed her doctoral thesis in 2021 titled 'Prediction of unfavorable outcome in Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) and assessment of the long-term outcomes in JIA-associated uveitis.'
