Verica Bakeva is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Informatics, part of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. Since 1993, she has held various teaching and research roles, contributing to fields like probabilistic models, cryptography, and coding theory.
- Graduated with Mathematics and Informatics degree (1992)
- Master of Mathematics and Informatics (1998)
- PhD in Informatics (2003)
Her research focuses on probabilistic models applied to cryptography, coding theory, and queueing systems. She has taught courses including Probability Theory, Information Theory, and Coding Theory, bridging foundational mathematics with computational applications.
Verica has published around 30 scientific papers and participated in seven funded research projects (five by the Ministry of Science of Macedonia, three international). She authored five textbooks for high school students and maintains affiliations with the Society of Informaticians of Macedonia and the IEEE Information Theory Society.
