Dr. Venkata Karthik Nadimpalli serves as a Senior Researcher in the Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), specializing in advanced metal additive manufacturing processes. His work focuses on laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) for stainless steel components, addressing critical challenges in microstructure control and material performance.
Research interests center on additive manufacturing process-microstructure-property relationships, with particular expertise in stainless steel 316L/17-4PH systems. Key investigation areas include cell structure formation, thermal stability during post-processing, melt pool dynamics, and interface engineering in functionally graded materials. His fingerprint analysis confirms dominant specialization in powder bed fusion (100%) and laser powder bed fusion material science (90%).
Dr. Nadimpalli actively supervises five PhD projects: Precision Polishing Miniature AM Impellers (2024-2027), Open-Architecture LPBF for Microstructural Engineering (2023-2026), Additive Manufacturing Farm (2023-2026), Microstructure in Stainless Steel 316L (2022-2025), and Next-generation materials for selective laser sintering (2022-2025). He contributes to DTU's Additive Manufacturing research group (amgroup@construct.dtu.dk) with funding spanning precision engineering and microstructural optimization initiatives.
