Venkata Chevali

Venkata Chevali is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Southern Queensland, affiliated with the Centre for Future Materials. His research spans materials science, chemical engineering, and macromolecular chemistry, focusing on advanced composites, additive manufacturing, and sustainable polymer systems.

• MSc and PhD from University of Alabama at Birmingham

Dr. Chevali's work explores thermoplastic composites, nanoengineering at polymer interfaces, and flame retardancy in materials. He integrates numerical modeling with molecular dynamics to address rare phenomena in advanced materials.

He teaches courses including MEC 5203 Fibre Reinforced Composites and MEC 1201 Engineering Materials, with 12 years of tertiary teaching experience. Current projects include serving as Chief Investigator for the Australian Research Council Discovery Project DP230103008, LE230100179, and the SIMPLE Hub.

International collaborations include partnerships with Prof Uday K Vaidya (University of Tennessee, Knoxville), Sebastian Spierling (Leibniz University, Hannover), and Prof Srikanth Pilla (Clemson University). Administrative roles include oversight of UniSQ's Fire Testing, Polymer Processing, and Materials Characterisation facilities.
