Venelin Georgiev

Prof. Venelin Georgiev, PhD is a Professor in the Department of National and International Security at New Bulgarian University. With extensive experience in defense and security management, he teaches courses including SECB030 Fundamentals of Cybersecurity, SECB802 Information and Analytical Activities in Security Systems, SECB820 Assessment and Risk Management, SECB851 Security Metrics and Measurements, and SECB853 Corruption and Security.

Prof. Georgiev has held various significant positions including Associate Professor at the Institute for Parallel Information Processing – Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, State Expert at the Ministry of Defense, Head of Sector, and Chief Expert. His practical experience in defense resource management informs his academic work, creating a valuable bridge between theory and practice.
