Vega María Arnáez Arce is a Researcher at the University of Deusto's Deusto School of Law since January 2013. She holds a PhD in Law and teaches Administrative Law across campuses in Bilbao and San Sebastián. Her courses include 'Administrative Intervention in Economic Activities,' 'Sanctioning Power and Rule of Law,' and 'Public Contracts and Means.' She is also part of the 'Public Power and Business in a Multi-level Cross-cutting Context' research team and contributed to the TransLaw project 'The mutations of the EU Economic Constitution' (2014–2016).
Her research focuses on citizen participation in public service management, sustainable public procurement, and the role of cooperatives in delivering public services. She advocates for integrating social and environmental criteria into administrative policies, particularly through cooperative models. In 2015, she received the XI Premio UD-Grupo Santander for her contributions to legal and policy research.
Vega actively participates in academic collaborations, including the Estudios de Deusto journal. Her work spans topics like energy cooperatives, gender equity in education, and the legal framework for public planning. She emphasizes the interplay between administrative law, socio-economic policies, and sustainable development goals.
