Vasiliki Tileli

Vasiliki Tileli is an Associate Professor at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), affiliated with the School of Engineering (STI). She leads the INE Laboratory for the in situ characterization of nanomaterials by electrons within the Institute of Materials (IMX). Her roles include teaching in Materials Science and Engineering and serving as a member of the doctoral program committee for the Doctoral Program in Materials Science and Engineering at EPFL.

Her research focuses on nanomaterials and their characterization using advanced electron microscopy techniques, emphasizing in situ analysis to study material behavior under real-world conditions. She has supervised multiple doctoral students, including recent advisees such as Barbey-Binggeli Morgan, Liu Chang, and others. Past students include Bozzetti Michele, Girod Robin Pierre Alain, and Hou Jing, among others.

Dr. Tileli is actively involved in academic governance, contributing to the SMX-ENS teaching program and the EDMX-GE doctoral committee within EPFL’s organizational structure. Her work bridges fundamental materials research with applications in engineering and advanced manufacturing technologies.
