Vasiliadis Nikolaos

Nikolaos Vasiliadis serves as a Professor at the School of Informatics, Department of Informatics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Greece. Based in the Biology Building, Mezzanine, Room 15, he maintains office hours daily from 9:00-11:00 and can be contacted at +30-231099.7913 or nbassili@csd.auth.gr. His academic leadership extends to directing the Web, Data and Knowledge Engineering Sector and chairing critical university committees including Digital Governance, Digital Transformation of Greek Universities, and International University Rankings Monitoring.

His educational foundation includes:

• PhD in Informatics from the Department of Informatics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki
• M.Sc. in Applied Artificial Intelligence from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland
• Degree in Physics from the Department of Physics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

Vasiliadis specializes in Semantic Web technologies, Ontologies, Linked Data, and Knowledge Systems, with significant contributions to Intelligent Agents and Web Services within Artificial Intelligence. His research bridges theoretical frameworks with practical implementations in E-Commerce, E-Government, and E-Learning domains, emphasizing rule-based knowledge engineering and intelligent system architectures.

He actively shapes academic policy through leadership roles including presidency of AUTH's Digital Governance Committee and the Digital Transformation of Greek Universities Committee. Previously, he directed the Interdepartmental Master's Program in 'Informatics and Management' (2011-2021) and served as Head of the Department's Internal Evaluation Committee.

Within the research ecosystem, Vasiliadis operates as a core member of the Intelligent Systems laboratory and directs the Web, Data and Knowledge Engineering Sector, where his team advances semantic technologies and knowledge representation systems through collaborations with international institutions and industry partners.
