Vasileios Kostakis

Vasileios Kostakis is a tenured Full Professor of Technology Governance and Sustainability at Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech), holding a position within the Ragnar Nurkse Department of Innovation and Governance under the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. He also serves as a Visiting Professor at The New School (New York) and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Additionally, he is a Faculty Associate at Harvard University’s Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA).

• Education: PhD in Political Economy of Information Production in the Social Web from TalTech (2011).

Research Interests: Focuses on social sciences, economics, environmental policy, and political science, with particular emphasis on innovation governance, sustainability, and the digital economy. His work explores topics like decent work, precarity, and the intersection of technology with societal structures.

Projects & Grants: Engaged in research on cooperative digital economies, environmental technology, and policy frameworks for sustainable development. Collaborates internationally through initiatives like the psychology of working network and decent work measurement projects.

Labs/Teams: Associated with TalTech’s Ragnar Nurkse Institute of Innovation and Governance and Harvard’s Berkman Klein Center, contributing to interdisciplinary research on digital transformation and governance.
