Prof. Vasil Georgiev is a Professor in the Department of Political Sciences at New Bulgarian University (NBU), where he teaches the Bachelor's program in Politics and Society (in English). He currently instructs POLS435: Sovereignty, International Intervention and Human Rights.
His research spans:
- Political Science: Theoretical frameworks of state power
- International Relations: Dynamics of global interventionism
- Human Rights: Legal enforcement mechanisms
- Sovereignty Studies: State autonomy vs. international obligations
Prof. Georgiev critically examines tensions between national sovereignty and humanitarian intervention, with particular focus on jurisdictional conflicts in human rights enforcement. His pedagogical approach integrates contemporary case studies from international crises.
