Vasanti Piette

Vasanti Piette is an Assistant Professor in Durham University's School of Modern Languages and Cultures, specializing in communicative language teaching methodologies. A Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, she has taught French language courses at all undergraduate levels since 1999.

Her scholarship focuses on:

• Innovative techniques for student engagement
• Assessment and feedback frameworks
• Enhancing student experience
• Academic support systems

Administrative roles include Admissions Tutor, Outreach Officer for local schools, and supervisor for language assistants. Her research examines challenges in French education systems, socio-economic aspects of French/francophone television, and evolving religious practices in France.

She is developing educational simulations for advanced language functions and cultural awareness through a book project with Taylor & Francis.
