Vanessa Tranel is an Extension Faculty at Master Instructor (highest rank) at Colorado State University. She serves as the liaison between the Colorado State University Extension 4-H Youth Development program and military service branches, national 4-H, and NIFA. Her role focuses on coordinating, networking, and facilitating youth programs for military-connected families, integrating 4-H curricula into military installations, and providing professional development in positive youth development and experiential learning.

- BA in Agricultural/Natural Resources Journalism, Colorado State University
- MEd in Technology in Education, Lesley University
Research Interests: Vanessa specializes in leveraging 4-H programs to support military-connected youth through structured activities, mentorship, and evidence-based curricula. She emphasizes positive youth development principles and cultural competency in diverse military communities.

Program Leadership: Vanessa leads the 4-H Military Partnership initiative, supporting over 20 Colorado military installations. She collaborates with the Colorado State Fair Foundation Board and AgFest teams to expand youth engagement.
