Vanessa Kind is an Honorary Professor in the School of Education and Durham CELLS (Centre for Ethics and Law in the Life Sciences) at Durham University. She holds roles such as Deputy Head of Faculty in Social Sciences and Health, and has served as Director of the Science Learning Centre North East. Her career spans molecular biology, chemistry teaching, and academic leadership in international schools and universities. She earned her doctorate studying post-16 chemistry students' conceptual understanding and has contributed to science education policy globally.

Research Interests: Vanessa’s work explores science teacher knowledge, pedagogical strategies, practical science education, and chemical education.
