Van Anh Thi Pham, MD, PhD, MPH, MIRB is an academic physician and researcher at VinUniversity's College of Health Sciences, where she serves as Associate Program Director of the MD Program. Her work bridges clinical medicine, medical education, and global health policy, with a focus on underserved populations in Vietnam. She is actively engaged in research and program development in HIV/AIDS, palliative care, oncology, tuberculosis, and health equity.
Her research interests include health equity, HIV/AIDS care, palliative and end-of-life care, medical education reform, and medical ethics. She has led and collaborated on multiple international research projects, particularly with Harvard Medical School and King’s College London, focusing on validating patient-reported outcome measures and understanding the palliative care needs of patients with serious illnesses.
The recent publications highlight a strong trend in qualitative and quantitative assessments of symptom burden, quality of life, and care access among patients with HIV and cancer in Vietnam. Her work emphasizes patient-centered outcomes, integration of palliative care into national health systems, and reforming medical education to address stigma and primary care needs.

Her work is supported by institutional and international research frameworks, including approvals from the Vietnam Ministry of Health and Partners Healthcare System IRB. She is actively involved in shaping medical professionalism and ethical training for future physicians.
She contributes to global health through the Center for Global Health at Penn as an International Scholar and collaborates with international institutions to strengthen palliative care and medical education systems in Vietnam.
