Dr. Valérie Camos is Professor of Developmental Psychology at the University of Friborg in Switzerland, where she founded the multidisciplinary Friborg Center for Cognition. She serves on the executive committee of the European Society for Cognitive Psychology.
Her research examines:
- Working memory architecture across development
- Time-Based Resource Sharing model
- Executive functions in children
- Development of maintenance mechanisms
- Integration of long-term memory with working memory
Dr. Camos co-developed the Time-Based Resource-Sharing (TBRS) model, which conceptualizes working memory as a central executive system integrating domain-specific buffers with long-term memory through attentional refreshing. Her work establishes developmental trajectories of working memory capacity through childhood and adolescence.
She serves as associate editor for Journal of Cognitive Psychology and Quarterly Journal of Experimental Psychology.
