Valeriya Dinger is a Professor of Macroeconomics at the University of Osnabrück, where she leads the Chair of Macroeconomics within the Institute of Empirical Economic Research. Her research spans critical areas in modern economics, including financial stability, banking, real estate markets, monetary policy, and sustainability. She actively collaborates with central banks, international institutions, and scholars across Europe.
Her research focuses on systemic risks in financial and tech sectors, the impact of regulation on housing markets, and the interplay between macroprudential and monetary policies. She employs empirical and quantitative methods, including natural language processing (ClimateBERT), to analyze sustainability disclosures and ESG dimensions. Her recent work investigates rent control, bank bailouts, capital flows, and digitalization in finance.
Prof. Dinger’s recent publications appear in top journals such as the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, and Real Estate Economics. Her work shows a strong trend toward interdisciplinary research combining macroeconomics with finance, policy evaluation, and data science.
